openSUSE 11.4 は 2012 年 11 月 5 日にサポートを終了しています。Evergreen プロジェクトが提供していた延長サポートも 2014 年 7 月 27 日に終了しています。最新版については openSUSE ディストリビューションを参照して下さい。

openSUSE 11.4 が 2011年3月10日（木）にリリースされました。11.4 は openSUSE の歴史の上に立ち，安定性を維持しながらも，最新の技術を提供します。これは自由なソフトウェア・アプリケーションに最新の，そして大幅な改善をもたらします。今回のリリースに伴って，新しいツール，新しいプロジェクト，そして新しいサービスが出現し，結びつくことで，11.4 は openSUSE プロジェクトの成長と活力を示すものとなるのです！

基本システム

curl と zsync によって，パッケージ管理ではより高速なリポジトリ更新，より良いプロクシのサポートを実現
Freetype フォントでサブピクセル・レンダリングをサポート

- Broadcom 製(4313, 43224, 43225 チップ) 対応のフリーでオープンな無線 LAN ドライバを同梱
「アップデーター・アプレット」は標準設定で（パッチでなく）パッケージ更新を通知予定

GNOME

次期リリース版の openSUSE 11.4 では，最新版の GNOME 2.32 を採用します。 GNOME 2.32 は GNOME 2.x シリーズの最新版にして最終版です。openSUSEユーザーに安定性を提供するために，リリース後の8ヵ月間にわたり，いくかの改良を提供します。同時に openSUSE GNOME チームでは GNOME 3 の提供準備に追われています。GNOME 3 のプレビュー版，新しい GNOME Shell は openSUSE 11.4 で利用可能になるでしょう。 詳細はこちらをお読みください
