=== パッケージ作成 ===
パッケージの作成はディストリビューションにおけるプロジェクトに必要不可欠な要素です。これはソフトウェアが openSUSE に集録されるプロセスであり、それを経て DVD や インターネット・リポジトリからインストールすることが利用可能となるのです。openSUSE の長所のひとつは KDE パッケージの新鮮さです。KDE パッケージは、通常のリリースによって利用可能になる前に KDE SVN から 頻繁にバグ取りなどのアップデートがなされた状態でパッケージとなっています。
KDE コア・パッケージの多くは KDE チームによってパッケージが作成され、サードパーティ製（たとえば kde-apps.org 発）のソフトウェアは、コミュニティ・リポジトリが引き受けています。
